Hi everyone

Jess has been nominated for another award (this is as well as the Australia sports star nomination)
This time it is for the people’s choice for the Queensland Womensport

Sorry to be a pest but…
If you have a spare minute and could send a vote her way
That would be really great
Thanks so much

November 2009

Hello again

Well life is finally starting to slow down a little and get back to normal at last.

I’ve only had about half of the commitments & appearances this month that I had in October.

I’ve been zooming all over south east Queensland doing all sorts of different things.

I’ve been to a few awards dinners, a couple of birthday parties and done a couple of speaking engagements.

One weekend I had a swim clinic with about 30 kids up in Toowoomba. That was a huge drive and I haven’t been to Toowoomba for some time now. Probably the last time I was there would have been when my Mum and Dad took me and my brothers and sisters up there for a swim meet and that was ages ago.

The next weekend I had a beautiful weekend up at Noosa. I was part of the celebrity triathlon and I had a blast doing the swim leg of the triathlon but I was exhausted when the whole thing was finished. My team came 4th—just missed a podium finish.

I have had a swimmer from France staying with me this month. She is a very good freestyler and swam in Beijing at the Olympics and in Rome at the World Championships.

She loved Brisbane, Queensland with our beautiful weather and lovely beaches. I took her around to see a bit while she was here.

Yesterday I had to take her to the airport because it was time for her to go home. She was really sad because she is going home to below zero temperatures and lots of snow. BBrrrrrrrrrr

I’ve been to a few more schools. Now it’s the end of the year they are all having their end of year sportsperson presentations—they are always interesting to go to.

I will be leaving next week to head off to Singapore to compete in the World Cup over there. I actually fly out on my birthday so that will be a weird birthday experience not being with my huge family and celebrating my special day with them all.

I’m not coming home after that is finished either. I will be zooming down to Canberra to swim at a domestic meet and then go into a camp, so should get back here around the beginning of December … just in time to swim at the Queensland State Championships at Chandler.

Then hopefully I will be able to settle down and concentrate on getting fitter and faster for the Commonwealth Games / Pan Pacific Championship Trials which are going to be on in March 2010. So fingers crossed all goes well with my preparation for that. It will be here in no time.

Catch up again next month … Bye for now
