Well Christmas will be here in a matter of days.
I can’t believe how fast it came around this year. I guess I had such a huge and busy year with so much happening—the saying “Time flies when you’re having fun” must be true.
Well I swam at my first competition since the Beijing Olympic Games last week. The Queensland State Championships were on at Chandler. I actually missed my first 2 races because they were on the first day and that was also the day my sister chose to have my niece Christened. I figured Isabella will only ever be christened once in her life and I can swim any time so I chose to go to the christening.
I did try to get back to do the 100m butterfly but I got back to Chandler just as the final heat was touching the wall and finishing the race. O well, I swam in my 200m butterfly a couple of days later and boy did that sting—ouch. I didn’t do such a great time but I was quite happy with the way I swam, and my coach was as well, so hopefully, we are on track for the trials in March 2009.
Well this month has been full of good and bad news. I lost a couple of sponsors due to the touchy economy at the moment. That was a really big blow to me … BUT … I bought a brand new car and I bought myself my very own house and it’s only 8 minutes away from where I train now, so that is really, really awesome.
I’ve also had my birthday since I wrote to you last. I got some really cool presents and I had a bit of a party at home and it was great to catch up with my friends and just chill out and relax.
Apart from training and working I’ve done a bit of sponsor stuff and a bit of running around and I’ve been on the radio again. So doing all that and working and training has kept me busy and out of trouble and that’s good.
Well, like I said Christmas will be here this week and I’ve been a good girl so hopefully Santa will give me some nice presents.
Season’s Greetings to you all and I wish you all the best for 2009.
Happy holidays and STAY SAFE.
Bye for now,
